¿Por qué el sarampión es una enfermedad tan grave?

  • El sarampión es una enfermedad muy contagiosa y puede llegar a provocar la muerte. No es necesario pasarla ‘a la antigua usanza’ como dicen algunos: tenemos una vacuna eficaz y segura para prevenirla.

Una de las manifestaciones más conocidas del sarampión es la aparición de un sarpullido en la piel. Ojalá fuera esa la única consecuencia de esta enfermedad que, durante los seis primeros meses de 2018, ya ha infectado a más de 41.000 niños y adultos en toda Europa.

A pesar de que existe una vacuna segura y eficaz para prevenirlo, el sarampión es todavía una de las principales causas de mortalidad infantil. Se trata de una enfermedad altamente contagiosa que puede dejar secuelas muy graves tanto en niños como en adultos.
